As a CTO and financial executive, Michael Backes provides hands-on leadership. With an entrepreneurial-mindest, Backes has recognized expertise in finding technical and business solutions.

His career has focused on change: everything from digitizing regional power grids to revamping a global manufacturer's QA, as a venture capitalist focused on next-generation companies, or in his role creating the first German company-builder focused on strategically innovating a large corporate. In six years, he created a portfolio value of over €200M on the heels of €27M in investment.

He is a graduate of Kansas State University in Computer Science and holds an MBA in finance from the Rotterdam School of Management.
